We are located in the Arts District, right on the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles proper. We're in a modern industrial, safe and secure mixed use development called Row DTLA, surrounded by other luxury businesses, retail shops and restaurants.
Position Description:
Reporting to the owner, this client focused position oversees the flow of the salon, answers calls and texts, greets arriving guests, welcomes them into the establishment, and gets them settled in.
Potential candidates must be available to work weekends.
Pay is hourly, between $17-$19 per hour based on experience. Free and discounted nail services are an added perk!
You will:
Cheerfully greet and check-in clients upon entering the salon, making each one feel 100% welcome.
Help clients choose polish, gel and/or dip powder colors for their hands and feet.
Escort clients to designated stations.
Provide clients with tip cards and menus, and inform them of their technician's name upon being seated.
Offer drinks.
Ensure the needs of waiting clients are met.
Learn the salon's services, products and ethos to be able to direct clients accordingly, give sincere advice, and recommendations.
Provide excellent customer service throughout the client's salon experience.
Speak with clients to ensure satisfaction with services and make conversation.
Respond to complaints and help resolve them.
Notify owner of any client service issues.
Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly).
Learn and use client's names and foster warm relationships with repeat customers.
Check clients out and validate parking tickets using the salon's booking/POS system on a mobile phone or iPad.
Thank clients as they leave, ensure that everything was satisfactory, and invite them to return.
Track station assignments and seating rotation.
Keep track of appointment times, letting nail technicians know when they're running behind, and reschedule clients when necessary.
Assist managers and technicians with station prep and set-up ahead of appointments and services.
Help maintain a stocked, tidy and clean salon at all times.
Help to answer texts and incoming calls.
Promote, work and act in a manner consistent with Powder Beauty Co.'s values.
Perform other related duties.
Your Skills:
MUST be a people person!

Have excellent communication and customer service skills in person and over the phone.
Comfortable working in a busy salon environment.
Be computer savvy and able to quickly catch on to the booking/POS system.
Be able to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to walk and stand during an entire shift when necessary.
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
High School diploma or GED.
Prior customer service experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
Previous work experience as a host or hostess preferred.
