Job Description:

As a Restorative Exercise Specialist (RES) at C.O.R.E. Centers you will:

Work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their impairment, functional, and fitness goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of a RES

Conducts appropriate health-and-fitness related assessments for members of special populations, including but not limited to, individuals with a physical disability, intellectual disability, disease, musculoskeletal injury, cardiovascular condition, neurologic disorders, and deconditioning disuse syndrome from a sedentary lifestyle.

Develops and administers corrective exercise programs designed to enhance musculoskeletal conditioning, flexibility, cardiorespiratory function, balance, posture, gait mechanics, and performance (speed, agility, acceleration, quickness).

Works one-on-one with special populations in cooperation with other qualified health care professionals to enhance quality of life and manage health risk.

Aims to function as a member of a team working toward a single collective goal, which is to help an individual who is coping with one or more diseases, disorders, or injuries reach his or her optimal functional and fitness level.

Conducts pre-exercise interview with ability to adjust exercise design based upon client presentation.

Mentors all incoming staff and Restorative Exercise Advisors in training.

Qualifications:

Self-starter, highly motivated

Understand the principles of physical fitness and how to properly adapt exercise technique to a variety of unique and specialized conditions.

Able to coach, motivate and inspire clients at every stage of their recovery journey.

Provide exceptional customer service and build a loyal client base.

Professional demeanor with ability to work with diverse groups.

Passion to help people with physical disabilities, diseases, and musculoskeletal injuries.

Maintain a strenuous workload for sustained periods of time.

Essential Certifications / Educational Requirements:

Personal Trainer and/or CSCS certification through either: ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, NESTA.

Experience working in the field with special populations for a minimum of one year.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification

Preferred Certifications / Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical effort required for daily duties include lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, transferring wheelchair users, and prolonged standing/walking.
