GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Acorn is looking for a talented Audio / Video (AV) Installation Technician for a full-time position on our deployment team, based out of the greater San Gabriel Valley area. If you have installation/technician experience in the audio/video industry, or a strong understanding of audio/video signal flow plus installation technician experience in a related field, then this is the opportunity for you. As an AV install technician with Acorn in this high end-user visibility role, you will have the chance to work with a dedicated team committed to providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities would include creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical AV infrastructure within a Granicus environment, and working with Granicus’s support team to ensure functionality of the platform and associated peripherals for end-clients within the public sphere. This position is part of Helpdesk Engineering Department and is responsible for a large variety of Granicus-related AV hardware administration of our customers' needs including, but not limited to, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network related issues. You will work collaboratively with other IT professionals and business stakeholders to ensure the Granicus environment is reliable, secure, and meets the evolving needs of our client organizations.
DUTIES
Install, configure, and manage the physical AV components of a Granicus environment.
o Determine the resources needed to complete new broadcast installations based on the deployment installation plans, diagrams and blueprints.
o Implement AV broadcast systems to defined specifications including cameras, microphones, switchers, automation, and streaming.
o Document procedures and processes related to Granicus physical hardware administration.
o Troubleshoot systems and application issues, including signal flow, software, and basic networking.
o Monitor audio visual system performance and ensure quality control standards are met.
o Manage and maintain audio visual equipment inventory for end-client client.
Oversee Audio Visual/Live Streaming component of Live City Council meetings on Granicus platform including setup, troubleshooting, breakdown, post-production, etc
Travel to customer sites for buildout of structured cabling, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of broadcast systems.
Communicate with customers and peers throughout the spec, build and installation phases.
Research and recommend new audio visual technologies and products to enhance audio visual services.
Train staff and users on proper use of audio visual equipment and systems.
Work with internal teams and clients to understand their needs and ensure the Granicus environment effectively supports their workflow.
Establish and enforce policies and procedures for using audio visual equipment and services.
Provide outstanding service to new and existing customers via telephone and email or virtual meetings, when necessary, or when required for more sensitive or complex needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of audio/visual equipment and systems.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to audio/visual systems.
Proficiency with video and audio editing software.
Ability to set up and operate audio/visual equipment.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to audio/visual systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to audio/visual equipment and systems.
Basic carpentry/construction knowledge. Structured cabling experience for existing walls and pre-construction wire installation.
Climb ladders, lift over 50lbs, work in tight spaces: 1 year (Required)
Working knowledge of networking principles and TCP/IP protocols.
Experience in the following applications and protocols a plus: Datto RMM/Autotask, Auvik, IT Glue.
Ability to resolve complex problems, examine opportunities for process improvements, formulate an implementation approach, and bring solution to the appropriate parties.

Ability to quickly assess situations and escalate issues to vendor or the attention of management when necessary.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, while remaining highly motivated and focused in a fast-paced environment, independently and as a member of a team.

REQUIREMENTS
College coursework or technical training is required.
Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in IT, with demonstrated career progression within the field.
Minimum 2 years of experience working within the Granicus, Extron, Crestron, AMX or similar presentation system experience (not required, but is a plus).
2 years of work experience leading to thorough knowledge of audio/video broadcast equipment required.
Live broadcast production (directing, camera operator, etc.) experience.
A sound understanding of computer hardware installation and troubleshooting required.
Position works regularly with public safety entities. As a result, within the first 90 days of employment, you will be required to take and pass a Live Scan, as well as become CJIS certified within the first 90 days of employment. Must be a US Citizen.
Conversational and written English fluency required.
Local travel required.

PHYICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, interacting with others through written forms, voice, phone, and video conferences. Able to provide verbal instruction to others. Ability to lift up to 50lbs of hardware, climb ladders, perform tasks that require fine motor skills, and work in confined spaces, as required.

COMPENSATION
$31-35/hour, depending on experience. Plus benefits.
