Part-Time Podcast Engineer, Editor etc.

I can no longer do this on my own I have other things to focus on So we're looking for a part time podcast engineer who can handle the tech aspects of the recording process and posting/streaming/distributing to youtube as well as converting to audio and uploading to our audio host - for 2 different podcasts each week. We also expect this person to make weekly social media reels for each podcast (usually just 1 reel per week per podcast, an occasional extra one). Yes, this is what I used to do in addition to running our day-to-day business, but I just can't handle it all anymore. But we've also had a tough time finding someone who satisfies all of the things we're looking for.

We don't care if you are working on other podcasts - we love that you stay busy and keep on top of the podcast trends - as long as you give us the same amount of service and dedication as if we were your only client. We have 2 separate, well-established comedy podcasts and we record 1 episode of each podcast per week (for a total of 2 in-person podcast sessions in our Van Nuys studio). Our studio is in a quiet, residential neighborhood and is a home environment (but not our home). It's a bit of a relaxed "hang" at our office/studio, but make no mistake, we are professionals - these podcasts are a big part of our business, so we take our work seriously, we're a (small) corporation and all that, so we're not messing around. Look, this is really a dream part-time job and you would love it here! We don't even care if you don't have a sense of humor - as long as you have everything else, we're cool with you.

IN-PERSON TIME COMMITMENT

Roughly 4 hours per podcast session and with 2 episodes per week, it would be a total of approximately 8 in-person hours a week. As you get more comfortable with the process, it would really only be about 2 to 3 hours per podcast session, so only about 6 hours each week in person. (Occasional projects may come up that take a little more time, etc., but this doesn't come up all the time - just once in a while and we'd of course plan ahead and work with your schedule.)

REMOTE TIME COMMITMENT

Approximately 2 hours per week for clipping social media reels (which you can do remotely of course)

Approximately 1 hour per week converting video files to audio and posting on audio podcast host platforms (can do remotely as well - we'll show you all of this)

We're pretty set up and established already with several years of podcast episodes under our belt, but we want to tighten up our look so that it's more consistent in our reels AND so that we can take some of the admin/posting things off of MY plate. We also want to start a patreon and get that running, and generate new content for that, etc. We have ideas - but no time to do it all

TO BE CONSIDERED if you've kept reading this far and you're still interested, please email your resume and include links to other podcasts you've worked on or are currently working on.

BONUS if you know about patreon and getting off the ground with that, we'd love to meet you. And if you know other avenues of revenue and exposure, that's a huge plus. ALSO - if you do videography and/or photography, there might be more of a path for growth (and $) with us for the right person By the way, we already have a digital marketing team but we're looking specifically for podcast content creation and podcast engineering.

This position would be part-time and 1099 (non-employee independent contractor) to start, but if it works out well for a while, we would be interested in bringing this person on as a full-time employee with health benefits and 401k option.
