Producer Needed for Equity-Based Indie Film Development

I’m Patrick Wilcox. I’m a director based in Hollywood.

I’ve been working on commercials and music videos, and I’m transitioning to narrative.

I recently directed a short film in Italy starring Lorenzo Pozzan (Luca Guadagnino’s Queer) and a pilot in Los Angeles starring Georgina Campbell (Barbarian).

I’m looking for a producer to help me develop this first feature—a right-hand creative partner who will share in the equity.

What I bring to the project:

I have a Hollywood-based production facility, just a couple of blocks from Paramount, that includes a full edit bay, server room, and a small virtual production stage built with some help from the Grip and Electric Department on The Mandalorian.

I don’t imagine we’ll do much principal photography here, but it could significantly reduce costs for any visual effects-heavy setups. It’s set up for wire work and other complex production needs.

I also have great connections with crew in Los Angeles and internationally across the Americas and Europe.

My creative focus:

I make philosophical horror about alienation, fate, and mischief. Think A Killing of a Sacred Deer, Hereditary, Audition (1999), Under the Skin, and Perfect Blue.

What I’m looking for:

I’m looking for a producer who thrives in development and fundraising—someone who can help identify a world-class spec script or option existing IP and attach a writer, as well as help raise additional investor funds to complement the $100,000 I currently have in escrow.

This could be a single producer who’s skilled at both making things happen creatively and securing financing, or it could involve assembling the right team of collaborators to divide these roles effectively.

Funding:

My goal is to create a SAG Ultra Low Budget or Moderate Low Budget feature that prioritizes ideas and dialogue. That said, my experience with visual effects and stretching a budget means we can include set pieces to elevate this beyond a purely dialogue-driven film.

What I’m offering:

I’m willing to pay for production. All you need to bring is your time, your good taste, and your network.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has the time, interest, and ability to shape a feature project from the ground up. I’d love to hear about your resume, your personal aesthetics, and philosophical interests, and how you’d approach something like this.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, I’d love to connect. Thank you.
