Role Summary: The Paint Prepper is responsible for proper masking and prepping of vehicles prior to the paint process.
The Paint Prepper:
⦁ Understands and follows the Repair Order
⦁ Uses all paint-related products according to the manufacturer's recommended procedures
⦁ Prepare damaged area of vehicle for painting
⦁ Apply corrosion protection
⦁ Cover vehicle
⦁ Prepare and apply all primers and sealers
⦁ Strip paint on minor parts
⦁ Finish sand and feather-edge metal work
⦁ Prepare panels for blending
⦁ Detail mask
⦁ Block sand
⦁ Setting up panels for two-tone
⦁ Apply chip guard
⦁ Perform all repairs to company standards
⦁ Rework repairs that do not meet company standards or customers' expectations
⦁ Maintain copy of work order in vehicle
⦁ Maintain tools and equipment within department
⦁ Maintain a clean and orderly production area throughout the day
⦁ Comply with OSHA procedures
⦁ Work closely with and take direction from the head painter
⦁ Assist their team in meeting target delivery dates
Required:
⦁ At least 1 year of paint prep experience, preferably in a high production shop
⦁ Willing to learn and work with a team
⦁ Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) a bonus
