As the owner of a very unique business, I am fully aware that I am not going to get bombarded with applications from highly qualified clock and bell technicians. I am however, confident that there are very talented employees with experience that will fit the bill for this type of work. Mine is a small company specializing in selling, installing, repairing and maintaining cast bronze bells, like you would find in a church bell tower. Additionally, we sell, install, repair and maintain clocks in clocktowers like Big Ben, only not quite so big. On a daily basis, we work with some basic electricity, low voltage wiring, light framing with wood, steel and Unistrut. Some of the more challenging work involves rigging, such as how to remove and reinstall a 1,500 lb. bell from a 80' bell tower, or mount a 750 lb. clock on the side of a clock tower. It's not so hard if you know how and this can be learned. When bells are automated (made to ring at given times) an electronic controller is used. The same is true with tower clocks. Familiarity with computers is definitely helpful too. I do have a couple of mandates for my employees; they must be reliable, punctual, honest, hardworking and care about their own integrity, oh, and definitely NOT afraid of heights. This is a good job with good pay and a lot of potential for the right person. If you want to use your talents and construction skills for something different and challenging, Please apply. Thank you in advance, S G.
