MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience as a dispatcher or relevant position.
Knowledge of DOT Safety rules, Hours of service, Federal and State Regulations for facilities and operators.
Possess critical thinking skills to understand the cause/effect of decisions and how they impact the operation.
Knowledgeable in data entry, internet usage, email, Microsoft Office, Excel, and web-based routing/GPS programs.
Active Listener with excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers under any type of condition as well as coworkers.
Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel.
Ability to multitask and prioritize with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time.
Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances.
Proficient in English (oral and written).
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for the assignment, scheduling, and notification of operators for vehicle transportation.
Dispatch Operators by providing necessary manifests and other information for proper completion of assignments.
Respond to calls, texts or other operator inquiries and provide assistance, directions, and information to ensure safe and timely route operation.
Maintain familiarity with all routes currently being offered - communicate information to customer as applicable.
Communicate with supervisors and customers to resolve issues.
Communicate with the Account Management Team, regarding customer requests, special requests, review itineraries, schedule changes, and special instructions.
Communicate routing information and updates to customer.
Schedule Truck/Trailer cleaning to correspond with dispatch requirements.
Locate and research locations for service and/or repairs for tractor/trailer equipment when needed.
Coordinate with Maintenance Department scheduling of repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency on call requirements.
Maintain full and part time Operators lists ensuring up-to-date contact information.
Assist with special reporting, as it relates to the dispatching of personnel and equipment, as may be needed by management or the customer.
