Thought Merchants is looking for a design assistant to support our operations in Venice, California.
We are a tiny design studio, 2 people, that creates for start-ups and emerging companies. Check out our roster of clients. We are tiny with a massive impact. You will be working directly with Austin and Steve.
The best applicants have good design sensibility and are looking to learn and gain experience. You make things. You’re likely just starting your design journey. Be sure to send over examples of your work. What do you make? It doesn’t matter what it is, show us. We can teach you technology and business. We can’t teach creativity. Not having work to show will remove you from consideration.
- Assist in set up / styling / breakdown of photoshoots
- Silkscreen printing / 3d print production / laser cut production
- Shipment packaging, prep, boxing, and operations. We have very low volume.
- Writing copy for clients, publishing to web sites, organizing information across slack and other channels.
- Take photos of our process and products and put them on our site.
- Contribute to our design process as best you can.
- Photo editing, production, curation, exporting publishing.
- Help setup, facilitate, and breakdown workshops.
You’ll be the right hand man or woman of Austin and Steve. The more initiative and curiosity you show, the more you’ll end up doing! There is no limit on what you have access to at TM.
1-3 days a week. We are located a few blocks off the beach in Venice and will require you to be on-site most of the time. We’re flexible for the right person. $30 / hour. If you have the design chops this can turn into a full-time job.
