Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an International Shipping Coordinator in the retail industry, based in Manhattan Beach, California. As an International Shipping Coordinator, you will be tasked with overseeing the control and administration of international shipments and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics processes.Responsibilities: Take charge of the control and administration of international shipments, including document management and payment presentations. Maintain regular communication with manufacturers, vendors, and other sources to ensure efficient operation of the shipping process. Review and check shipping documents for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies with the relevant teams. Ensure timely invoicing for shipments and maintain accurate records. Play a crucial role in resolving document discrepancies or clarifications with factories and other stakeholders. Ensure that cargo receipts are properly signed, dated, and processed within the required time frame. Process necessary paperwork including transportation documents, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, packing lists and other shipping documentation. Interact with Customer Service, Allocations, Customs Team, Finance Team, Retail Team, and any other parties involved to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Monitor all shipment activity for timely arrival at the destination and report any discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor/manager. Ensure all documents and finance presentations are sent to finance institutions and/or customers to secure payment for all shipments. Maintain responsibility for all filing associated with international shipments processed by the team. Requirements Extensive knowledge of international shipping procedures and protocols Proficient in logistics management software and tools Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven experience in a retail environment, preferably in an international setting Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Good understanding of customs regulations and international trade laws Ability to work effectively in a team setting High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures Bilingual or multilingual skills would be an asset A minimum of a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
