General Manager
If joining a team of talented and passionate hospitality and culinary professionals is attractive to you – Camp Navarro just might be the place for you. Camp Navarro is seeking a General Operations Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate has experience in operating events and festivals, lodging and food facility operations, and seasonal business operations. The General Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s operations from day-to-day staff and property management, guest experience, strategic planning for all departments in support of maximized, successful operations. The General Operations Manager works closely with the Executive team in supporting the company’s vision, mission, and culture and is an ambassador for the Camp Navarro brand onsite and in the community.
This is an exciting opportunity for a management professional who is an experienced, adept leader who has a strong business and organizational mind, expert communication skills to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of departments, and a love of the outdoors in a more remote, wine country setting. Qualifications and Standards
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management or related Business degree, or Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent related business experience
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Manager at a hotel, resort, restaurant, winery or event venue or at an event planning and production company or related business
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in lodging or event management.
Minimum 1 year experience in a remote location is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
Broad overall business acumen and be knowledge of major business practices, included but not limited to accounting and bookkeeping, human resources, OSHA safety, property and asset management, event and lodging operations, catering and sales
Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the events/hospitality industry
Ability to problem-solve situations in real-time, make decisions and exercise sound judgment
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate with executives and staff employees
Strong client management skills, including the ability to anticipate client needs and lead a team to meet and exceed those needs before requested
Proficiency in Google Workspace, ability to work across both PC and Mac platforms and software applications that handle timekeeping, human resources, payroll, inventory, POS, event production, etc.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing efforts and initiatives
In depth knowledge and ability to work with P&L statements, operating budgets and analyze and effectively forecast and benchmark results
In depth knowledge of facility operating standards, building maintenance and custodial operations, policy creation and SOPs
In depth knowledge of event production and management, food and beverage management and lodging management
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Spanish preferred but not required.
Ideal candidate will have a diverse background, having proven success in a managerial role in various operating scenarios and geographic locations
Highly focused, organized, motivated and professional in appearance, communication and presentation
Willing to “be hands-on” to show the team that they are not above doing what is needed to make this business successful
