I have an opening for someone to work on Thursdays from about 12:00 to 8:00pm. (My wonderful current assistant is getting very busy with their life in the best possible way!) I attend a horse program, go to counseling and to an event in Fort Bragg. I really like to be out and about. It’s a very independent type of job and you probably won’t even feel like you are working. We have some little nice benefits too and can explain. (Once things get rolling along, we may have more hours available as a back up person, in other shifts if you are available and it works out.)
Beside driving me in my adapted mini van, job duties also include helping me with my dog who is a three year old Bernese mountain dog. Sometimes he joins us. So you should be a dog person.
I use a power wheelchair but there is no lifting involved and no I don't wear diapers (hey, I've been asked). I do need assistance to transfer but I can stand up but can't balance and a few other things and it's easy. I don't have any medical complications. I can easily train the right person.
Because of my disability, it is perfectly legal for me to request that I need to work with a female and prefer,( someone near ish plus 15yr or so) my age so we have stuff in common. I am looking for a reliable, responsible, stable, fun person to be around. Or at least please have a sense of humor. It’s a personality fit and I can train someone who doesn't have experience but again prefer someone who has care giving assistance experience.
Below is written from my Manager:
