I am a thirty five year old woman with a physical disability. I use a power wheelchair and I have a cool adapted minivan. There is no lifting with this job or anything too personal or too icky.
I need an assistant to work Wednesdays, 12:00pm to 5 ish. and Fridays 12:30 to 5 ish in the afternoons. Those days I am running errands, in Mendocino and Fort Bragg and going to appointments. Either Acupuncture or massage. I really like to be out and about. It’s a very independent type of job and you probably won’t even feel like you are working. We have some little nice benefits too and can explain.
(NOTE: I have another longer shift coming up later this month that is an overnight. The hours are Friday at 5pm though Sat at 6pm. Please let me know if you are interested.)
Beside driving my adapted mini van, job duties also include helping me sometimes with my dog who is a Bernese mountain dog. He travels in the car well and needs exercise and although understands all of his commands at 3 years old he’s still a big puppy. So you should be a dog person.
I use a power wheelchair but there is no lifting involved and no I don't wear diapers (hey, I've been asked). I do need assistance to transfer but I can stand up but can't balance and a few other things and it's easy. I don't have any medical complications. I can easily train the right person.
Because of my disability, it is perfectly legal for me to request that I need to work with a female and prefer, someone near ish within 15yr or so, my age so we have stuff in common. I am looking for a reliable, responsible, stable, fun person to be around. Or at least please, have a sense of humor. It’s a personality fit and I can train someone who doesn't have experience but again really prefer someone who has care giving experience.

8. Live on the Mendocino Coast. If you are inland like Ukiah or Willits it's too far to travel for these short days.
9. Be able to pass a background/live screen test. (no arrest record or serious driving offense.)
10. If you don’t have CPR/first aide we can provide a resource to obtain it.
11. Be willing and able to pass a drug test
