Seafood Processing Staff & Technician

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Seafood Processing Technician to assist in the preparation, handling, and processing of seafood products. This role is critical to maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency in our facility.

Responsibilities:

Seafood Handling & Preparation

Receive and inspect deliveries for quality.

Perform cleaning, cutting, sorting, and processing of seafood according to specifications.

Operate testing, batching, and sorting equipment

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records accurately.

Processing & Packaging

Monitor process parameters and make adjustments as needed.

Record production data, test results, and quality observations in logs or digital systems.

Flag and report any process deviations or equipment malfunctions.

Weigh and label products for traceability and inventory.

Conduct in-process checks to ensure product consistency.

Assist with sampling and basic quality control testing.

Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Safety & Sanitation

Follow strict hygiene and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.

Sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment according to safety protocols.

Record temperatures and handling logs to comply with HACCP and health regulations.


Inventory & Quality Control

Assist with tracking material input and yield for product streams.

Report quality issues or waste concerns to the supervisor.

Help with sorting and storing shells or other secondary materials for upcycling or research.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience with production, manufacturing, processing or lab environments.

Able to work efficiently in cold, wet environments and handle repetitive tasks.

Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and consistency.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Bonus

Familiarity with HACCP, FDA seafood safety standards, or seafood traceability protocols.

Experience in food manufacturing, shellfish handling or production environments

Forklift or cold storage experience a plus.
