Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a VP of HR in Menlo Park, California with a non-profit. This role involves leading the HR team and managing all HR functions, including compensation & benefits, performance management, training & development, and employee relations. The VP of HR will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, as well as aligning HR strategies with the organization's mission and goals. Responsibilities: Lead the HR team in fostering a mission-driven culture Oversee all HR functions including compensation & benefits, performance management, training & development, and employee relations Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations as the organization continues to grow Align HR strategies with the organization's mission and goals Manage direct reports and assist with leading new initiatives around DEI, Wellness, and Safety trainings Champion employee development programs, creating scale and coherence in training, development, and coaching initiatives Successfully navigate complex HR challenges, such as hybrid work expectations, and organization-wide change management Streamline processes and improve efficiencies within the HR department Requirements Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior HR role. Proven experience in Compliance, C-Suite, Benefits Administration, Career Development, Change Management, Employee Relations, HR Strategy, HR Policy, HR Compliance is mandatory. Demonstrated knowledge in Organizational Development, Performance Management, Performance Reviews, Policies & Procedures, Training & Development is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at the highest levels of the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and to facilitate agreement on HR policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals. Proven experience in managing HR functions including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and performance management. Ability to analyze HR metrics for informed decision making. Strong knowledge of labor legislation and its application in the workplace. detail oriented certification in HR (like PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred. Proven ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Demonstrated ability to balance business needs with employee needs. High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
