Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RV and Mobile Home Restoration Technician to join our team in Gilroy, CA. This is a crucial, full-time (40 hours per week) position starting as a contract role with a strong potential for permanent employment based on performance.
The ideal candidate has proven expertise in the repair, maintenance, and complete restoration of recreational vehicles and mobile homes, specifically including Jayco RV models.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive interior and exterior repairs on RVs and mobile homes.
Conduct structural repairs, including framework, roofing, and siding.
Restore and replace damaged components such as plumbing, electrical systems (12V and 120V), and HVAC units.
Execute detailed cosmetic restoration, including cabinetry, flooring, and appliance installation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and system failures efficiently.
Requirements
REQUIRED: Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in RV and/or Mobile Home repair and restoration.
REQUIRED: Specific, demonstrated experience with Jayco RV models is highly desirable.
Must be proficient in carpentry, electrical wiring, plumbing, and appliance repair related to RVs.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain high-quality standards.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Flexibility: You must be available to work 40 hours per week. You are welcome to work on weekdays, weekends, or a combination.

Structural and Chassis Repairs
[ ] Perform Frame Alignment:
[ ] Conduct laser measurement of main chassis rails.
[ ] Straighten and align rails, focusing on the rear section where the ramp door attaches.
[ ] Repair Suspension System:
[ ] Inspect axles for bends; replace if necessary.
[ ] Replace damaged leaf springs, shock absorbers, and suspension hangers.
[ ] Inspect and Repair Hitch Assembly:
[ ] For Fifth Wheels: Inspect pin box for cracks or bends; replace if damaged.
[ ] For Bumper-Pulls: Inspect and replace damaged tongue assemblies.
[ ] Restore Leveling Systems:
[ ] Identify bent hydraulic pistons, electric motors, or jack legs (check impact side).
[ ] Replace damaged stabilizer components.
Exterior Body and Envelope Repairs
[ ] Repair Rear Ramp Door System:
[ ] Remove and replace the damaged door panel.
[ ] Repair or replace hinges, cables, springs, and struts.
[ ] Verify weather sealing and latch function.
[ ] Restore Sidewalls:
[ ] Repair large dents or replace full sections of siding.
[ ] Perform fiberglass patching and gel coat application.
[ ] Remediate Delamination and Water Damage:
[ ] Inject specialized adhesive into areas where fiberglass has separated from the frame.
[ ] Remove and replace any rotted wood found during structural teardown.
[ ] Fix Slide-Out Mechanisms:
[ ] Realign bent slide-out rails.
[ ] Replace damaged gears and motors.
[ ] Repair the wall structure surrounding the slide-out housing.
[ ] Verify seals are making proper contact.
Interior and Utility System Repairs
[ ] Reinforce Garage Area:
[ ] Replace or repair tie-down anchors (D-rings) ripped from the floor.
[ ] Repair reinforced flooring sections.
[ ] Patch or re-apply specialized non-slip floor coatings.
[ ] Repair Electrical System:
[ ] Trace wiring harnesses running along the frame (lights, brakes, leveling).
[ ] Repair stretched, severed, or shorted wires.
[ ] Fix Plumbing and Holding Tanks:
[ ] Inspect and repair cracked PVC pipes and fittings (focus on chassis mount points).
[ ] Reseat or replace fresh, grey, or black water tanks that were jolted loose.
[ ] Restore Interior Fixtures:
[ ] Re-secure or replace appliances (refrigerator, microwave, stove).
[ ] Repair or rebuild splintered cabinetry.
