Ghitterman, Ghitterman & Feld is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our practice with an emphasis in Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability, and Disability Retirement Law.

This position serves as liaison between the handling attorney or hearing representative and the other parties involved in a case, most importantly, the client in each caseload. Case workers will interface directly with clients, adjusters, medical professionals or defense attorneys as needed. The case worker’s main focus is managing clients’ cases and getting them ready for the attorneys to bring to resolution: processing tasks, filing legal paperwork, and client service.

This candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish), have excellent oral and written communication skills, and have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook and Word) as well as creating, editing and manipulating PDFs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, have a vetted system of organization, a willingness to problem-solve, and an ability to switch tasks while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

Candidates must be comfortable working directly with clients and colleagues both in person, over the phone, and virtually. Experience with databases/client or case management software recommended. Customer service experience is a plus. The desire to work as part of a team is a must!

Position Type: Full-Time

Start Date: Immediate

Degree Level: Bachelors or Associate preferred

Compensation: Commensurate with knowledge, abilities and experience, $23 - 28 per hour to start depending on experience

Location: In-person for out Santa Barbara, Ventura, Santa Maria, Bakersfield or Turlock office locations.
