POSITION: Audio-Visual Technician

SUPERVISOR: Corps Officer

DEPARTMENT: Corps

STATUS: Non-Exempt/Part-Time

OVERVIEW:

AV Technician oversees all aspects of the Audio/Visual needs for worship services, music practices and functions and special events. In addition, this position assists with the maintenance of computer lab equipment.

DUTIES:

• Work closely with and under the supervision of the corps officers.

• Make sure all equipment is stored appropriately, organized and readily accessible.

• Set and monitor the soundboard for Sunday School, the Holiness Meeting, Spanish Prayer Service, and divisional and corps events at the Red Shield.

• Be present for sound checks at music practices and worship services.

• Make sure all computer slides are ready for worship services to include videos.

• Assist with the planning and implementation of special events.

• Assist with the production and maintenance of a Corps Directory, to include photos.

• Follow all “Protect the Mission” guidelines

• Meet Child Safety regulations and abide by them.

• Must attend all staff training and meetings.

• Any schedule change needs corps officer approval.

• Other duties as assigned by the corps officers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a good working knowledge of soundboards and A/V equipment.

• Must have a good working knowledge of computer hardware and software.

• The individual must be alert and professional.

• This individual must adhere to The Salvation Army standards and policies.

• Must be organized and tidy to ensure all cords and equipment are kept orderly and readily accessible.

• Ability to relate well with the public and foresee potential problems and correct them before they escalate.

• Knowledge of Salvation Army practices and organization desirable.

• Be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

• Maintain confidentiality, have flexibility, good people skills and cooperative.

• Be able to work under pressure.

• Be a team player.

• Must be dependable.

EQUIPMENT:

• Sound Boards, mics, AV equipment

• Pro Presenter/Media Shout

• Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher

• Lotus Notes, helpful

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis

• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

• Ability to operate telephone

• Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
