Field Service/Technical/Engineering Support ( emphasis on NEC and ShoreTel/Mitel IP based PBX'S) inside and outside office work with majority of time on Inside Help Desk type support.

By working directly with customers, install, maintain, and provide service on various IP based PBX and data products, with special emphasis on local and wide-area networking. Requires a valid California Drivers License and a reliable vehicle with insurance current with company standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for the Support, installation, modification, repair and preventative maintenance on telecommunications equipment and related Data systems. Performs hardware and software moves, adds and changes. Responds to and repairs all trouble reports related to voice and data circuits. Performs work according to company and industry standards. Must be available for occasional On Call work hours on short notice.

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgement is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Must be able to install, program, and maintain the entire range of company products. Must be able to accurately estimate job costs and document labor and materials requirements.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

This is a senior level position with emphasis on data communications. Must hold at least one networking certification from Microsoft, Novell, or Cisco such as MCP, MCSE, CNA, CNE, or CCNA. Or have at least six years of increased responsibility and demonstrable and verifiable experience building, installing and supporting PC network workstations and LAN equipment and VOIP technologies including routing, bridging, repeating, and switching.

Additional specific desired experience:

Understanding of data networking theory and application, Cisco CCNA is desired,

Understanding of telephony & transport theory and application (POTS, DS1, DS3, and fiber), PBX experience is a plus.

Ability to install Cisco routers, LAN switches, servers and other network devices, including ability to access console port to load IOS and configurations.

Install and configure WAN devices such as CSU/DSU's & DSL Modems

Experience with DMarc/MPOE location & extension, including high-rise & multi-tenant facilities, 66/110 block cross connects and riser cabling.

Experience with cabling LAN topologies

Intermediate PC skills, with sound knowledge of Microsoft applications

Must be willing to be on call for after-hours work

Must possess a valid drivers' license with good driving record, and be willing to travel within a No Ca region to perform work.
