JOB SUMMARYThe Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a part-time after school facilitator in our Art is Power after-school art and English Language Arts enrichment program in Ontario-Montclair, CA, starting in December 2024. Through this program, we develop students’ art, language and Reading/Writing skills as well as their confidence and identities as artists. We are seeking an after school leader with a deep commitment to creating opportunities for underserved youth and an excitement around leading young people in an engaging, joyful learning experiences. No art teaching experience or art degree required! After school sessions will take place two days per week for 1 hour a session. Facilitator will also be paid for 1-1.5 hours of prep time per week. 2 sites (2 days per week, Tuesdays between 1:15-2:15 and one other day after-school) Minimum 3 hours/week, potentially hours increasing in JanuaryEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
HS Diploma required, college-level coursework or degree preferred
Experience working with students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade
Experience facilitating lessons for a group of 15-20 students with strong classroom management
Experience engaging and motivating students in a classroom or enrichment setting
Knowledge of Google Docs and Slides
Interest or experience in art is a plus!
In progress or completed California Multiple Subject, substitute, or emergency teaching credential is a bonus

Ability to use judgment to change course on the spot, adjusting lesson plans to reach desired outcomes

Quickly able to build strong relationships and rapport with students in an afterschool setting
Applicants must be available to teach during afternoon hours (2:15-4:00pm) two days per week
Personifies the social justice ideals espoused by Cesar Chavez and embodies the Si Se Puede! attitude fueling the Farmworker Movement
Must complete FBI/DOJ livescan in California
