PAYROLL MANAGER
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented part-time Payroll Manager to oversee all payroll functions for our organization of 300+ employees. This role requires a professional with a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex systems. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, self-motivated with the ability to identify and resolve problems, have great communication skills, and be comfortable with regular travel to Southern California to conduct training and meet with leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees using UKG Ready, Club Automation, and Zenoti software systems.
Ensure the accuracy of all payroll data, including wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and tax filings.
Research, resolve, and interpret complex payroll issues for hourly, salary, commission, and gratuity employees.
Participate and lead cross functional teams to implement new processes and/or recommend changes.
Travel once per month to our Southern California offices to meet with Directors and provide in-person training to team members on payroll procedures and system updates.
Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Address and resolve employee inquiries and issues related to payroll in a timely and professional manner.
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare relevant reports for management.
Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to develop processes and improve overall efficiency.
Support General Managers and Directors with team trainings, proper documentation, and payroll knowledge.
Streamline and improve payroll procedures and training materials.
Manage a Payroll Specialist and coordinate with HR department.
Ensure all records are organized and accurate.
Provide ad hoc reporting and other documentation to COO, CFO, and HR Director.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar role.
Must be comfortable working with multiple database systems.
Proficiency with UKG Ready and Club Automation payroll software systems.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Willingness to travel once per month to Southern California.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
Bachelor's degree in a related fields such as Accounting, Finance is preferred.
Have experience and familiarity working with various types of payroll, preferred.
