Position Overview:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving business growth, ensuring profitability, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. The GM ensures efficient execution of projects and administrative processes while maintaining strong client relationships and aligning with company objectives.
Responsibilities:
Business Operations & Strategy
Implement business strategies to ensure company growth and profitability.
Maintain the financial health of the company.
Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand operations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including electrical codes and safety standards.
Project Management & Execution
Apply standard project management practices to ensure timely, cost-effective project completion.
Monitor job site progress and resolve issues related to scheduling, resources, and technical challenges.
Team Leadership & Development
Model professional behavior and provide guidance to the administrative staff.
Foster a strong company culture and a high-performance team environment.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and workforce allocation for projects.
Encourage continuous learning and professional development.
Client Relations & Business Development
Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
Develop and execute sales strategies to secure new contracts and retain existing clients.
Continuously assess and streamline administrative and operational processes.
Safety & Compliance
Implement and enforce workplace safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Address compliance issues and maintain quality control on job sites.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
2 years of experience in a leadership role.
2 years of experience in the construction industry.
Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
Strong problem-solving skills to resolve scheduling, technical, and logistical issues on job sites.
Tech-savvy, with proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
3-5 years of experience in a leadership role.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Experience in a small company or startup environment where you contributed to business growth, scalability, and process improvement.
Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or electrical systems are a plus.
