About Us:
CODG, Inc. is a residential design–build firm specializing in high-end custom homes and remodels along the Monterey Peninsula. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to manage planning and building submittals while also providing office administration support. This position plays a key role in coordinating between consultants, drafters, and municipalities to ensure complete and compliant plan sets that achieve timely approvals and permit issuance.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and submit planning and building permit applications to local municipalities.

Coordinate with designer, drafters, consultants, and engineers to produce complete and accurate plan sets.

Review drawings and documents to confirm compliance with municipal submittal standards, zoning ordinances, and building codes.

Communicate directly with city planners and building departments to resolve comments and track project progress.

Stay current with local and state building codes, zoning updates, and planning requirements.

Maintain submittal correspondence, organize project documentation, and manage office correspondence.

Take notes from the Principal and create task and to-do list, coordinate and follow up with our team, consultants, and drafters.

Support general office administration including but limited to tasks including scheduling, printing plans, answering the phones, greet clients, scan documents, pickup and deliver plans and materials for projects and filing.

Qualifications:

2-years minimum experience with the permit process with local municipalities; planning and building department, environmental agencies, public works, water management and private HOA’s and Architectural Review Agencies.

Familiar with the California Building Codes (CBC) and ability to stay updated on code changes.

Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or plan coordination a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Compensation:

In-person role at our Carmel office.

Flexible Part-Time or Full-Time schedule.

Competitive pay based on experience.
