We are seeking a passionate and experienced server who is looking to take on our front-of-house operations.
Responsibilities:
Beverage Expertise - Prepare and serve high-quality espresso and coffee drinks. Ensure consistency in beverage quality and presentation. Stay updated on coffee trends and participate in menu development.
Customer Service - Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere. Manage and oversee table service, addressing customer needs promptly. Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues with tact and professionalism.
Order Management - Take catering orders and coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate inventory of cafe supplies, placing orders as needed. Collaborate with suppliers to secure high-quality ingredients and products.
Day-to-Day Operations - Oversee the daily operations of the cafe. Schedule and manage staff to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the cafe.
Staff Training - Train and mentor new and existing staff members. Conduct regular training sessions on customer service, product knowledge, and cafe procedures. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control - Uphold and enforce quality control standards for beverages and food items.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Flow Management - Manage the flow of the cafe, optimizing efficiency during busy periods. Implement strategies to reduce wait times and enhance customer satisfaction.
Promotion and Marketing - Work with the marketing team to execute promotional activities and events.
Implement strategies to increase customer retention and attract new clientele.
Starting pay is $20 per hour plus tips depending on experience with room to grow.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe setting.
Exceptional knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and a passion for the craft. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. Understanding of health and safety regulations. Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and evenings as needed.
