Barmel is a busy cocktail bar in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea with a strong nighttime crowd. We’re looking for a Lead Bartender to anchor the bar, take care of our regulars, and keep service tight on busy nights.
You:
3+ years bartending in a busy bar environment
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails and interest in craft recipes
Positive energy and hospitality-minded; you genuinely enjoy taking care of guests
Comfortable working in a loud, high-energy environment
Confident, organized, and able to set the pace for the bar team
Professional with cash handling, tabs, comps, and tip reporting
Calm under pressure; good with guests and coworkers
Reliable, punctual, and consistent with closing responsibilities
Role & Responsibilities:
Bartend 3–5 shifts per week (including weekends and peak nights)
Lead the bar during your shifts:
Drive pace and organization behind the bar
Maintain bar cleanliness and restocking throughout service
Keep standards high for cocktail quality and presentation
Help with:
Basic inventory tracking and communicating low stock
Prep and batching according to house specs
Following opening/closing checklists
Schedule & Pay:
Shifts: evenings and nights, including weekends and some holidays
Employment: Full Time or Part Time
Pay: $18/hour + good tips
