Our family (my partner, me and our 3 dogs) is seeking an experienced, organized and detail oriented Live In Housekeeper/Cook who will travel with us between our two homes in Carmel-by-the-Sea California and Tempe Arizona.
Duties: All aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of the residence. Laundry including Washing, folding, ironing and putting away. Changing bed linens daily. Trash/Recycling Management. Receiving and opening package deliveries. Grocery and household supply shopping (In-Person with Mask or online via Instacart) Menu planning with family to ensure healthy meals are being prepared. Maintain tidiness of the home. General care for our 3 dogs including feeding, letting the dogs out to use the restroom, playing with the dogs outdoors and providing a quick bath once weekly or as needed. Running errands and helping with special requests as needed such as picking up flowers for the home, etc Helping with various household organizing projects. Outdoor living space/furniture management including ensuring outdoor dinning table and furniture is wiped down and ready for use. Helping to put up and take down holiday decorations with our family. Experience in hosting, setting a formal table and serving small luncheons and or dinner parties with family and or friends (once covid is no longer). Learning the likes of our family and ensuring those things are provided throughout the day such as an afternoon iced tea and snacks brought to our home office. Coordinate onsite appointment with manicurist and or masseuse. Light gardening with family members on occasion and using fresh vegetables from garden in your daily meals.
Qualifications: Joyful, kind and caring demeanor. Self motivated and a desire for excellence in all that they do. Receptive to feedback and a willingness to try a new way of doing something. Must be able to travel with our family between our homes in California and Arizona. Experienced cook and or experience cooking following recipes. Caring for a 3500+ square foot residence and cooking for a family is required however previous “Live In” experience is not required. Vehicle will be provided for running errands and work related responsibilities. English speaking is a must.
Hours: The schedule will be 5 days a week Monday through Sunday. Days off could be a Sunday and a Thursday as an example. Hours will be from 7:30am to 7:30pm with lunch and dedicated time off in the later part of the afternoon.
Compensation: We are open to having a discussion about compensation based on past experience. We are very fair people and believe that people in any line of works should be paid fairly for the good work they do.
Living Quarters: You will have your own bedroom and bathroom with a full size bed, dresser, mounted television, recliner, side tables and lamp. You will also have a secondary space (movie room) to enjoy 5 days a week during your down time to watch television and or movies as well as select outdoor spaces on the property on your days off or during breaks.
Start Date: As soon as Possible. For the right person, we are willing to pay for airfare from your current location to our home.
Covid-19: We are extremely covid cautious and expect you to be as well. We care for our 98 year old grandmother (you will not be caring for her) and take great care to ensure that we are always masked when we are in public spaces and taking extra precautions to ensure we return home with as little exposure to others as possible.
About Us: My partner (42 years old) and I (36 years old) both work from home. Our family member Jill, also shares our home with us in Carmel California two weeks out of the month and is 39 years old. We are all extremely hardworking, but incredibly caring, fun, funny and kind human beings. We love our extended family and welcome them into our homes whenever their schedules allow. Our 3 dogs are just like our children and each have incredibly unique personalities. We ultimately are looking for a person that is looking for a longterm opportunity with a loving family that shares our same values of kindness, caring, hardwork, excellence and trustworthiness, to come and help take care of us, our dogs and our homes.
