Job Overview:
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, fun to work with, thoughtful, respectful and flexible front-of-house team member to join our staff. Depending on the need of the shift, positions include bussing, running food, and eventually helping as a bar back. Must be available to work afternoons and evenings, including and especially weekends. Our shifts and needs are in flux and we are currently figuring out scheduling gaps. Note that for now, in the winter months, this position would likely start out with just a shift or two per week, with some shorter and some longer - e.g. 5pm-8pm (during the rush) or 5pm-10:30pm. Come the spring and summer months we will probably be adding shifts.
Job Description:
- As runner and/or busser: kindly greet, help and seat customers when they arrive; run food and drink orders to guests; occasionally take food and drink orders; bus used dish ware from tables and set up for next customers; keep the dining area neat and pleasant
- As bar back: polish glasses; pour beer, wine and other beverages; change kegs; use POS system; keep bar area wiped down and orderly; take drink and other orders from bar tenders
- Thoroughly complete opening/closing tasks and side work as needed; clean and stock the restaurant essentials for front of house service
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders
- All other duties assigned by management
Desired Qualifications:
- Highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills - ability to work in teams and with customers
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Ability to work well under time pressure
- Dedication to on-time arrival for shifts
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Creativity for adding content on our social media
