Morgan Winery is a family owned and operated winery with an estate vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. We are looking for a dynamic Part-Time Sales Associate to join our tasting room team at Taste Morgan – located in Carmel, California. Primary responsibilities include the following:
Customer Engagement and Wine Education:
Work in a team environment to provide exceptional customer engagement in alignment with winery messaging and financial goals.
Pour and describe wines, winemaking techniques and winery history, answer questions about wines.
Share knowledge of Santa Lucia Highlands growing area and general Monterey County tourism information.
Demonstrate salesmanship skills through active listening and rapport building with guests.
Responsible for focusing on target wines, informing customers about our Wine Club, and achieving sales and activity goals.
Retail/Hospitality Operations:
Assist with tasting room operations including product restocking and merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and inventory control.
Perform periodic cleaning tasks to maintain appearance and presentation of tasting room and serving ware.
Handle routine sales efficiently and professionally. Utilize good judgment and problem solving for special requests or non-routing transactions.
Perform other administrative tasks as necessary.
Event Support:
Coordinate appointments for tasting room visits, special events and other projects as assigned.
Assist with planning, set-up, execution and take-down of hospitality events. Communicate with winery marketing staff as needed.
Represent winery at outside functions as needed.

Qualification Requirements:
Minimum 21 years of age
High School diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to speak confidently with and in front of people
Ability to learn and follow established work protocols including computer tasks
Minimum one year of successful tasting room or related work experience
Flexible schedule a plus
Work Environment Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs
Tasting room operations include an outdoor patio and occasionally off-site events are held outdoors, requiring the need to work in a variety of weather conditions
