Vin By the Sea is a new wine bar and restaurant opening in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, specializing in 'Big Wines & Small Plates' offering an elevated yet approachable dining experience that celebrates both California + European wine culture with perfect chef inspired bites.
We're seeking detail-oriented Runner/Bussers who will play an essential role in maintaining the seamless flow of service and enhancing our guests' dining experience. While this is an entry-level position, the ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the food and wine industry and desire to grow their knowledge. You'll work closely with our service team to ensure efficient operations and immaculate presentation throughout the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver food promptly from kitchen to tables, ensuring each dish reaches guests at its optimal temperature and presentation
Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently between seatings
Maintain proper sanitation standards for tableware and dining areas
Assist servers with wine service as directed, including delivering and removing glassware
Refill water, bread, and other table necessities without prompting
Support servers during busy periods to ensure all guests receive attentive service
Maintain cleanliness of dining room, service stations, and restrooms throughout service
Learn basic wine knowledge to assist with proper glassware setup and handling
Help maintain organization of wine storage areas under supervision
Assist with setup and breakdown of service areas
Support special events and private dining functions as needed
Qualifications:
Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
Genuine interest in wine and food service
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team player mentality with willingness to assist wherever needed
Professional appearance and courteous demeanor
Reliable transportation to work in Carmel-by-the-Sea
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, carry heavy trays, and move quickly
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and navigate between tight spaces
