ABOUT THE POSITION:
The City of Monterey currently has one (1) full-time Accounting Assistant vacancy in the Public Works Department. The Accounting Assistant will assist with auditing, accounts payable, project cost accounting, work order management reporting and other related duties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical, customer service and organizational skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and/or business license.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License upon time of appointment and be insurable with the City’s standard insurance rate, unless otherwise approved by appointing authority.
