Universal Staffing is seeking a full-time Government Procurement Specialist for a local company we partner with.
Requirements:
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in government procurement.
- Preferred personality traits: active listener, detail-oriented, and dynamic.
- A bold personality is a plus.
- Legal experience is beneficial.
Compensation: - Salary is based on experience, with a maximum pay rate of $29.70 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Planning and Strategy: - Develop acquisition plans, statements of work (SOW), and performance work statements (PWS) in alignment with program requirements. - Identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement execution.
2. Legal and Ethical Compliance: - Possess a strong understanding of ethical standards and legal requirements in government contracting. - Demonstrate sound judgment in managing procurement-sensitive information, ensuring transparency and fairness in vendor selection and contract awards.
3. Financial and Cost Management: - Competent in reviewing cost proposals, analyzing budgets, and ensuring cost realism and reasonableness. - Familiar with contract funding, invoice review, and the closeout process.
4. Communication and Stakeholder Management: - Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with program managers, legal advisors, vendors, and senior leadership. - Skilled at presenting procurement recommendations and defending acquisition strategies.
