The following description is meant to provide you with a basic understanding of what is expected. Additional duties will be assigned based on the needs of the business and your capabilities:
- Attend annual trainings, medical evaluations and safety meetings.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with the company safety policy, including fall protection, confined spaces, hearing protection, heat prevention, hazardous communication program and respiratory protection.
- Maintain a clean and clutter free workspace within the jobsite.
- Demolition and removal of building materials; may contain asbestos, lead, mold or other hazardous substances.
- Clean and sanitize workspaces using approved disinfectants, sanitizers, antimicrobials and other appropriate cleaning products.
- Apply mastic remover and paint stripper. Familiarize yourself with the company chemical safety data sheets and the hazardous communications program.
- Set up workspace containments using poly sheeting, tape, and negative air machines. Set up decontamination rooms.
- Accessing these materials may require working in confined spaces or from scaffolding and ladders.
- Report accurate bag counts and/or quantities for manifests.
- Operate material-removal vehicles and travel where needed.
- Inspect and operate hand tools, saws, chippers, hammers, jackhammers, drill motors and grinders.
- Work well with other supervisors and team members to maintain clear communication of duties and project statuses.
- Inspect, clean and wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, suits, gloves, lanyards, fall protection harnesses, hard hats, sturdy work boots, eye and hearing protection.
- Inspect, calibrate and wear personal air-monitoring devices.
Hazards: This role may also complete tasks near, around and/or with hazardous materials, including, but not limited to: asbestos, lead, mold, etc. The candidate will not be asked to work near, around and/or with these materials without the proper training, certification or personal protective equipment (PPE).
