Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (occasional weekends or holidays as needed)
Compensation: $75,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview
Del Mesa Carmel is seeking a Landscaping Supervisor to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Landscaping Department. This role requires a hands-on leader who can supervise a team of nine groundskeepers, oversee landscaping maintenance and improvement projects, and ensure our community remains safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and oversee daily landscaping and maintenance activities.
Lead, train, and motivate a team of landscaping staff.
Supervise landscape installation, enhancement, and seasonal projects.
Serve as the main point of contact for residents, addressing landscaping concerns promptly and professionally.
Inspect grounds regularly to ensure high standards of appearance, safety, and cleanliness.
Provide expert guidance in planting, pruning, mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and weed control.
Recommend landscape improvements and enhancements to the General Manager
Assist the Building & Grounds Committee in its processing of landscape alteration requests.
Prepare and present accurate cost estimates for landscaping projects.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized services.
Evaluate staff performance yearly.
Evaluate contractors' performance yearly if you outsource any part of the work.
Maintain accurate logs and records for labor, materials, and maintenance activities.
Enforce proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Keep landscaping equipment serviced and in good working order.
Oversee Zone Zero fire safety practices and manage the 30-foot defensible space program.
Qualifications
Proven experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or horticulture.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Working knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, and grounds maintenance equipment.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with residents and staff.
Preferred Skills
Experience in garden or landscape design and/or landscape architecture.
Knowledge of sustainable and fire-safe landscaping practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to quality and deadlines.
Creative, proactive approach to landscape maintenance and improvement.
