WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE
Urth Agriculture is an agricultural company, specializing in soil health through the sale of organic fertilizer and amendments. We proudly help growers increase overall crop production and quality, while reducing pest pressure and water usage on both organic and conventional farms. Urth Agriculture services all operations, including some of the world’s largest farms, small holding farms, and everyone in-between.
We are looking for a reliable individual to work in our Monterey warehouse who is a collaborative team player, eager to learn about our operation, and someone who delivers on their commitments and aspires to promote upward as the company continues to scale.
This position receives, handles, moves, stores, and prepares various non-hazardous materials within our warehouse. Main duties include product measurement, product pour off, labeling, loading and unloading transport items, product delivery, recording inventory statuses, ordering inventory, and making sure incoming deliveries properly match purchase orders and outgoing deliveries properly match receiving tickets. Must be familiar with basic inventory control processes and have a strong attention for detail when calculating measurements.
What you will do:
Shipping & Receiving:
o Day to day operations as required, ensuring on time delivery of products to customers per schedule
o Stage and check all orders for accuracy and efficiency
o Load trucks as per order of delivery
o Coordinate with Urth sales team and farm manager to deliver products (as needed) using Urth-provided truck
o Coordinate with bulk manufacturers acceptable delivery time/day
o Receive bulk dry product and manage proper storage
o Receive bulk liquid and transfer to appropriate holding tank for production
o Inspect all received product for damages
Bill of Lading:
o Ensure paperwork is properly distributed
o Ensure all information is legible and accurately filled out
Production:
o Prepare empties for bulk pours including pour off and labeling
o Package both dry and liquid products for delivery
o Utilize hand trucks, pallet jacks or other equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the warehouse
Safety:
o Follow outlined procedures and safety protocols at all times
o Identify any deficiency immediately to CEO
Maintenance:
o Clean and maintain warehouse and ensure products are properly stored
o Schedule forklift and truck(s) maintenance
o Clean trucks as needed
Inventory Counts:
o Ensure that physical product matches product on bills of lading when shipping and receiving.
o Assist with Inventory counts as required for each customer
o Ability to anticipate when to reorder product packaging and fulfill that duty
What you will bring:
Ability to learn our operation of receiving, making, storing and distributing products
Ability to stand, walk, and lift items up to 55 lbs, including moving heavy or bulky objects
Basic math skills and the ability to execute precise measurements and calculations for calibration and product mixing (ounces/gallons/pounds per acre and acres per tank)
Read, write, and speak English fluently (bilingual Spanish a plus)
Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Warehouse operations experience desired
Agricultural background preferred but not necessary
Basic computer skills and knowledge of typical office equipment to input, retrieve, transmit, and store data
Accurately and neatly complete forms and records on time
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Valid California license with good DMV driving record
Experience driving with attached trailer, including backing up
Pass background check with clean drug, alcohol, and criminal record
Hours & Compensation:
Monday-Friday 30 hours per week / $19 - $22 per hour doe. 90-day probation period to determine eligibility to become a full time employee with benefits.
