Safety Technician
We’re seeking to fill a position for a full-time Safety Technician to help keep our Aromas headquarters in tip-top shape. Duties include: implement and improve Fireclay Tile’s environmental, health and safety processes to promote a positive safety culture and a healthy workplace and maintain regulatory compliance. The Safety Technician collaborates with the EHS Manager and provides support to team members and management, monitors and measures EHS program implementation and performance, and will respond to and assist with emergency situations as they arise. This position will report to David Galaviz, Safety Manager in Aromas, CA.
The Role
-Help maintain the safety of the team and the production facility to sustain our “tour ready” state
-Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for general safety and material storage compliance
-Proactively fix things in the building in need of repair and find ways to improve and maintain overall safety
-Communicate items that need to be fixed to the Maintenance Department
-Communicate safety concerns and safety issues with the Safety Department
-Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking equipment used to minimize risk and hazards
-Assist with set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders to prepare facilities for events
-Maintains documents associated with accident and injury reports, and other safety-related documents (as needed); Addresses teammate phone inquiries regarding safety issues
-Safety Documentation: Support the Injury Illness Prevention Program, Lock Out/Tag Out, equipment, Respiratory Protection Program, Heat Illness Prevention Program, and other programs to sustain compliance with governmental agencies
-Professional Development: Attend training and maintain current knowledge of necessary environmental regulations / Cal-OSHA safety regulations specific to Fireclay Tile operations
-Facility Information: Responsible for collecting the necessary documents and written policies from packing houses, marketing companies, and contractors
-Ensure that all safety duties are completed in a timely fashion
-Collaborates with production department and conducts safety trainings
-Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned

What We're Looking For:
-Bilingual English/Spanish required
-High School Diploma or GED
-Two (2) years of maintenance/safety experience
-Available to work weekends, mornings, and or evenings
-The ability to problem-solve, repair, and generate cost-effective solutions
-Good communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to work with a variety of staff persons
-Be able to conduct safety training for new hires and in group setting
-Ability to lift and carry up 50 lbs. frequently, walk, stand and climb stairs throughout the duration of each shift with frequent use of hands and arms, ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and crawl, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
-Have experience in forklift operations and training
-Ability to stand and move on hard surfaces for up to eight hours
