The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $89,508 – $100,008 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Cultivate Relationships: Build and manage a dynamic portfolio of donors and prospective supporters to secure major gift commitments aligned with CSU Monterey Bay’s fundraising goals.

Engage Actively: Make 12 to 15 meaningful contacts each month, focusing on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to foster strong connections.

Strategize for Success: Develop compelling written engagement and solicitation strategies that guide prospective donors through the cultivation and stewardship cycle, using our moves management system to track progress.

Collaborate with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with assigned academic colleges or programs, partnering with Deans, faculty, and staff to ensure our development efforts align with their needs and goals.

Support Annual Giving: Contribute to our Annual Gift program, nurturing relationships with your assigned prospects to enhance ongoing support for the university.

Strategic Planning Support: Assist the Vice President for University Advancement in crafting and executing a development strategic plan that propels CSU Monterey Bay forward.

Embrace Variety: Engage in committee work and special projects that enhance our development processes and benefit the university community.

Event Management: Occasionally organize and present special events designed to engage prospective philanthropic partners, utilizing marketing strategies to maximize attendance and impact.

Manage Campaigns: Oversee college-based solicitations and special campaigns, interfacing with internal partners on strategies and scripts for solicitation.

What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of three years of successful fundraising experience or transferable skills such as sales, marketing, or public relations.

Experience with a nonprofit organization, demonstrating an understanding of philanthropic principles and practices a plus.

Familiarity with a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with annual fund, major or principal gift concepts. Demonstrated success in philanthropic community engagement.

Fundraising/donor relations experience in support of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or Education. Knowledge of the local philanthropic community.

Experience working in higher education.

Technical fluency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Raiser's Edge, and Google mail and calendaring programs.
