Medical Billing Specialist/Office Administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation or equivalent.

Bilingual a plus, not required.

Billing Department Functions:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the following:

1) Coordinate billing and claims information with contracted billing agency.

2) Maintain patient claims data.

4) Complete end-of-year reports.

5) Prepare a daily balance sheet of all collections for deposit by the Health Center bookkeeper.

6) Weekly Zoom meeting with 3rd party biller.

7) Renew provider credentials, as needed.

Reception Desk Functions:

1) Answer phones, take messages, and distribute those messages to the appropriate personnel. Notify personnel immediately if there is an urgent/emergency message.

2) Follow up on phone messages.

3) Schedule patient appointments.

4) Greet patients, enter patient demographics and intake information into the electronic medical record, and verify insurance status.

5) Collect any fees due at the time of patient visit.

6) Inventory office supplies and place orders as needed.

7) Monitor and maintain HMO member appointments.

8) Obtain HMO authorizations.

9) Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all patient information.

Position is on site M-F 9:30a-5:30p
