Michael Finizio Fine Woodworking is a 2-man shop in Pacific Grove looking to add a third full time employee. Our business currently focuses on building custom standalone furniture pieces for SF Bay area interior designers and their clients. With a third employee we seek to reduce our lead time on furniture pieces and start taking on custom casework and built-in projects on the Monterey Peninsula.
Applicants must have the following:
- Prior experience working in a furniture or cabinet shop.
- Experience with and comfort around the jointer, planer and table saw.
- Ability to safely handle large 8/4 stock and 4x8 sheet goods.
- Experience milling rough sawn lumber.
- Experience assembling large 4' x 10' glue-ups.
- Experience sanding and finishing.
Duties will include:
- Keeping the shop clean and organized.
- Unloading lumber deliveries.
- Processing rough stock.
- Assembling hardwood panels.
- Sanding and finishing completed furniture pieces.
- Delivering furniture to the SF Bay area (these are long days on the road that we do as a team. Delivery days start at 6 am and we generally don't get back to PG until 6 or 7 pm, they happen 2-3x/month.)
