We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role is crucial in safeguarding lives and property by ensuring that fire detection systems are functioning optimally.
Duties
Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems in various facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes.
Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to detect any malfunctions or deficiencies.
Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
Collaborate with clients to explain inspection results and provide guidance on necessary improvements or system design changes.
Utilize hand tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems as needed.
Stay updated on the latest industry standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and best practices in fire safety.
Experience
Proven experience in electrical work, particularly related to fire alarm systems.
Familiarity with fire alarm sales and field service operations is a plus.
Knowledge of system design principles, schematics, for effective planning and implementation of fire safety solutions.
Experience with fire sprinkler fitting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues quickly and efficiently.
