We are a local landscape construction and delivery company that is hiring a full-time Mobile Fleet Maintenance Mechanic. We provide all tools, equipment, and a service truck.
This position requires both mobile/on-site work.
Equipment includes light and medium duty trucks and vans, trailers, forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators, and construction equipment.
Starting pay depends on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:
Perform skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and minor repair of company vehicles and equipment.
Maintain, inspect, restore, clean, and detail equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs.
Diagnose minor issues and prepare reports and estimates.
Complete minor repairs and adjustments (brakes, hoses, filters, belts, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, tire changes, etc.).
Clean, restore, and detail vehicles and equipment.
Report any and all maintenance issues to Fleet Supervisor.
Schedule service with site managers.
Maintain accurate shop parts inventory records and order parts.
Maintain a tidy, safe shop and properly store tools and parts.
Coordinate with outside full‑service shops for large repairs: prepare work orders, report updates to Fleet Supervisor, and verify completed repairs.
Perform mobile on-site minor repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Two years of experience in automotive and/or construction equipment repair.
Valid California driver’s license.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to write reports, assessments, and estimates.
Experience with hand and power tools, diagnostic scanners, brake systems, and hydraulic basics.
Able to lift, bend, and work safely around heavy equipment.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable and team player mentality.
Professional attitude and commitment to quality work.
Basic computer and typing skills. Ability to use smart phones, tablets, and computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal technical training or ASE/industry certifications.
Familiarity with diesel and gasoline engines (light and medium duty).
Knowledge of DOT, BIT, and CHP inspection standards preferred.
Basic welding and fabrication skills.
Experience with fleet maintenance software.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to bend, crawl, work under and over equipment, and lift heavy parts.
Must be able to climb onto trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
Must be able to work outdoors in outside weather conditions (including rain, heat, sun, and wind)
Must be able to lift and move up to 60 lbs.
Shop is based in Salinas, CA with equipment yards in Monterey, Seaside, and San Martin.
