Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our team. The Generator Technician is responsible for specializing in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of generators and power systems, predominantly in residential settings. This role requires meticulous attention to optimize performance and reliability of serviced power systems on behalf of our team.

Waveform provides a range of electrical services for residential and commercial clients, from new construction, to solar and batteries, to generator installations and servicing. Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Setup:
Install and configure generators, transfer switches, and related components.
Test new installations to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
Read and review single line diagrams / wiring diagrams.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel-related issues.
Repair or replace damaged or worn-out components.
Diagnostics:
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues.
Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting.
Communications:
Ability to engage with clients professionally during the commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting processes.
Maintain accurate service logs and records.
Provide detailed reports on completed work, including recommendations for future service needs.
Ability to update the team on progress and when additional support is needed.
Ability to impart specialized expertise to more junior members of the technical team.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations regarding generator use and emissions.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Technical certification in generator maintenance.
Experience:
Proven experience as a generator technician or in a similar role.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
Comfortable working in varying environments (e.g., outdoors, confined spaces).
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Cleared background check.
