DETAILS:

Job Title: Hardware Engineering Technician

Loc: Mountain View, CA

Type: 12 + months contract

Position Description

As Client Nest hardware engineering technician, you will be expected to support all aspects of quality failure analysis including device triage, testing, and reporting for Nest, Home, and Client Nest consumer electronics. You will perform failure analysis activities for a wide variety of complex devices from across Client Nest's portfolio of products including audio, wifi, entertainment, safety, security and more. You will also be expected to work with vendors to support basic setup, maintenance and troubleshooting for the lab tools and equipment you use. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to independently solve problems, communicate clearly, and navigate a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Independent problem-solving and the ability to effectively navigate ambiguous situations with minimal guidance.
  • Strong organizational, documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), lab processes & protocols.
  • Experience generating and executing simple DOE's, device disassembly, and testing with supervision as needed.
  • Work with multiple internal, cross-functional teams to support shipping, receiving, and intake for devices and equipment to and from international and domestic partners.

Preferred
  • Background in product quality, manufacturing/assembly
  • Experience in a regulated field (aerospace, auto, medical)
  • Experience designing and implementing experiments
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing test fixtures/equipment and code
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory- Degree in EE, physics, electronics or equivalent practical experience (i.e. installation, technical support, etc.)

- Strong knowledge of failure analysis and troubleshooting methodologies for electronic devices and circuits, including familiarity with both non-destructive and destructive failure analysis techniques.

- Keen attention to detail, logical approach to problem solving

Desired-
