About the Role:
As the Assistant Vice President ofCompensation and Benefits, you will be a key leader in designing and managing comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies for the organization, which supports approximately 2,500 employees. Your responsibilities will cover the full spectrum of compensation and benefits, with an emphasis on fostering a culture of support and engagement for employees. While confidentiality in a search isn't the norm, it's essential for this opportunity due to business necessities. What You’ll Do:
Shape Compensation Strategies: Lead the design, implementation, and management of salary structures and compensation programs. Provide critical counsel on pay decisions and policy interpretation.
Empower Growth: Conduct job analyses, assign pay grades, recommend salary adjustments, and maintain the institutional organizational charts.
Guide Employee Benefits: Manage group insurance plans, process enrollments, and provide essential guidance on state and federal regulations.
Advocate for Employee Success: Assist employees with retirement processes, troubleshoot benefits issues, and develop action plans for improvement.
Lead the Team: Make decisions on hiring, performance evaluations, and employee development, and provide leadership on day-to-day benefits and compensation operations.
What you will bring:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits.
Certifications: Certifications such as CBP, CPP, SHRM SCP, or HRCI - SPHR are a plus.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal, state, and local regulations affecting compensation and benefits in higher education.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, as well as effectively communicate across diverse constituencies.
