As a floating teacher, under the supervision of the director, incumbent is responsible for co-supervising the day-to-day operation of the children in a preschool setting. Responsibilities include planning curriculum and outdoor activities, assist in supervision of practicum and field study students. Responsible to assist Director and Lead Teacher in supervising day-to-day operation of Center. Responsible to assist Lead Teacher in:
a. Maintaining an enriched organized, age and developmentally appropriate environment that promotes openness, exploration and warmth
b. Planning and implementing curriculum that fosters physical, intellectual, and affective growth of individual children and groups of children in a developmentally appropriate and non-stereotypical way.
c. Assist in the supervision, modeling, and direction of practicum field study students, work study aides, and volunteers on a daily basis.
d. Maintain a healthy and safe environment both inside and outside which includes direct supervision of children at all times, reporting accidents or injuries to parents and director using First Aid Report Form, handling any emergencies, accidents, injuries and health and safety problems, reporting any hazards and implementing the Center’s Disaster Plan. Assigned housekeeping chores.
e. Maintain positive daily communication with parents. Arrange physical space for comfort, easy access to materials and encouragement of learning. Maintain ease of contact with administration and implement policies and regulations. Maintain open communication with co-workers. Be able to work in a team-teaching setting.

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
