Genesis Medical College is hiring nursing faculty (RN/LVN) for our Vocational Nursing program. Areas of expertise needed are fundamentals, medical-surgical, mental health, gerontology, pediatrics and OB. This includes hybrid classroom instruction in theory and skills, and instruction in clinical settings. Faculty report to the Director of the Vocational Nursing Program. Applicants must hold an active LVN or RN license. Faculty members are responsible for assessing student performance during the course or at the clinical setting and documenting all program-related activities within required timelines.
Classroom Faculty is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and delivering instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods while promoting student retention and satisfaction.
Clinical Faculty is responsible for ensuring students exercise clinical judgment and apply theoretical principles to demonstrate clinical competency. The faculty is expected to be on site with the students during the clinical experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
● Classroom instruction is Monday through Wednesday. Clinical instruction is Thursday, Friday and possible weekend.
● Supervise and facilitate student learning in the classroom, clinical setting and/or skills lab.
● Set expectations to help students understand their formal and informal roles.
● Appropriately assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and best care for patients and provide feedback.
● Participate in faculty meetings and committees.
Qualifications
● Current active CA Nursing license, RN or LVN.
● Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience or associate degree and six years’ experience. For clinical role, 3 years’ experience providing direct patient care within the last 5 years, or equivalent.
● Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, Apple based office
● Advanced computer skills, very comfortable with technology to work in a hybrid learning environment.
Compensation
Hourly Range, Part-Time: $40.00-$70.00, depending on experience and education
