Responsibilities

Gather, research, and organize project design criteria and parameters

Design foundations & anchorage using custom in-house structural analysis software

Develop finite element analysis models

Work with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, & other codes

Develop and draft details based on structural analysis and design results

Develop structural reports and memos

Prepare engineering calculations

Prepare submittal packages

Collaborate on projects with in-house engineers, project managers, and clients

Participate in structural engineering & site plan development for projects from planning to completion

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (with structural design classes)

Ability to draw free-body diagrams and identify load paths for simple structures (such as a simply supported beam)

Ability and willingness to learn quickly

Effective organization, task, and time management skills

Effective teamwork skills

Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

Attention to detail

Basic familiarity with AutoCAD (2D) drafting

Pluses:

EIT/FE Certificate

Prior design-related experience (design projects and/or work)

Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D) drafting

Familiarity with structural engineering/analysis software

Familiarity with building codes (ASCE 7, IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS)

Familiarity with seismic and wind load analysis

Ability to draw free-body diagram and identify load path for more complicated structures such as frames
