Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sandwich Maker to join our team at our bustling café. As a Sandwich Maker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality sandwiches to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to ensuring food safety and quality.
Duties:
- Prepare sandwiches according to customer requests and café standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Operate the Toast POS system to manage orders and process payments.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Assist with maintaining the café's cleanliness.
- Perform basic math calculations to handle cash and credit transactions.
- Keep track of inventory and alert management to any shortages.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
- Follow proper food safety procedures to ensure the health and well-being of customers.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably in a café or sandwich shop setting.
- Proven experience with food safety and handling.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic math.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Skills:
- Sales skills to promote menu items and upsell.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency with Toast POS systems preferred.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions.
- Retail math skills to manage inventory and track sales.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in a café or similar food service environment.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 32 per week
