Job description
Dental Hygienist, part-time needed for Fridays and 2 saturdays/month for half day 8 am- 1 pm, salary with incentive to be discussed,
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to patients
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Assist the dentist during procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs and recording medical history
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management systems
- Familiarity with maintaining and organizing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ability to assist the dentist during procedures, including handing instruments and materials
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and practices
- Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) software for creating dental restorations
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing dental hygiene procedures, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dentist during procedures. To excel in this role, you should have strong skills in vital sign measurement, medical coding, medical documentation, Dentrix or similar systems, medical record management, HIPAA compliance, assisting the dentist, infection control, and CAD software.
