Lab Technician – Healthcare Diagnostics (Lake Forest, CA)

We are a rapidly growing diagnostic laboratory seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. This role supports sample processing, accessioning, equipment operation, and day-to-day lab operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Processing
Collect, label, and prepare specimens (blood, tissue, etc.)
Ensure proper storage, disposal, and handling per lab protocols.
Accessioning
Enter and track samples in the LIS.
Verify patient info, test requests, and specimen integrity.
Assign unique IDs/barcodes for accurate tracking.
Lab Operations & Maintenance
Clean and sterilize equipment/workstations.
Maintain inventory of reagents, supplies, and consumables.
Equipment Use
Operate centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, autoclaves, etc.
Perform routine calibration and basic troubleshooting.
Documentation
Record results, observations, and data accurately.
Maintain detailed logs, notebooks, and electronic records.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all PPE, OSHA, and lab-specific safety protocols.
Team Support
Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
Assist with administrative tasks and additional duties as needed.

Licenses/Degrees/Certifications Required:
Drivers License
Associates Degree
Bachelors Degree
ASCP Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology
Education Requirement: Completion of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, botany, zoology, oceanography, or marine biology, and at least two of the aforementioned courses must have had a laboratory module either as part of or separate from the general lecture; AND Completion of 3 semester or 4 quarter units of mathematics at an accredited college or university.
