Caregiver welcomed! Over 30 years ago I became paralyzed due to an accident and now use a wheelchair full time. I am 66 yrs. young and am blessed with a wonderful family and great friends. Now looking for a female caregiver to assist me with ADLs (activities of daily living) – stretching, toilet assistance, showering, dressing, cooking & keeping the house organized.
Two positions available:
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
or
Saturday/Sunday
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Experience is helpful, but not necessary as there is excellent training available. This is a perfect job for a mom who wanted to become a nurse, but never had the opportunity. :)
$25/hour
Duties Include:
range of motion (stretching)
bladder and bowel care
transfer me from bed to shower chair with a Hoyer lift. I am 5'5"/160 lbs.
showering (
dressing
brushing teeth
some meal preparation
general help around the house
some driving (we use my wheelchair accessible 2020 Toyota minivan)
Qualities Necessary:
values helping people
interested in anatomy and medical care
enjoys a variety of tasks, not the exact same thing every day
is prompt and reliable
must be physically fit because the first hour of shift is physical
CA driver’s license with good driving record
non-smoker
